    Job Description: 2nd Level Metal Journeyman

    Position Title: 2nd Level Sheet Metal Journeyman
    Department: Metal Fabrication/Construction
    Location: Greenwood, MS
    Reports To: Earl Collett /Brad Hawkins
    Employment Type: Full-Time

    Position Overview:
    We are looking for a skilled and experienced 2nd Level Metal Journeyman to join our fabrication and installation team. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in metalworking, including cutting, welding, bending, and assembling various types of metals. As a 2nd Level Metal Journeyman, you will be responsible for working on complex metal fabrication projects, ensuring precision, quality, and safety in all tasks. This role is critical to the success of our projects, which range from commercial installations to custom metalwork.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Fabricate, assemble, and install metal components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
    Perform advanced metalwork, including welding, cutting, bending, and finishing, using a variety of tools and equipment (e.g., TIG/MIG welders, grinders, plasma cutters, etc.).
    Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate work.
    Collaborate with project managers and foremen to determine job priorities and timelines.
    Ensure all metalwork meets quality standards, tolerances, and safety regulations.
    Work with various metals including steel, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel.
    Troubleshoot issues during fabrication or installation and propose effective solutions.
    Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
    Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA regulations.
    Train and mentor apprentices and less-experienced team members as needed.
    Keep detailed records of work performed and materials used on each project.
    Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and any challenges.
    Qualifications:

    Journeyman certification or equivalent experience in metalworking or welding.
    5+ years of experience in metal fabrication or related field.
    Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
    Strong knowledge of various metals and metalworking techniques, including welding (TIG, MIG, and Arc), cutting, and shaping.
    Ability to use a wide range of metalworking tools and equipment safely and effectively.
    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
    Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of OSHA standards.
    Skills You Will Develop:

    Project management skills, including scheduling and coordinating with other trades.
    Leadership and mentoring skills for training apprentices.
