FORGE Member West Brothers Construction toured the Lowndes County CTC students around the SOCSD-MSU Partnership School and the MSU Engineering and Science Complex. Rob Winklepleck and Jim Shackleford of West Brothers Construction guided the students around the job sites and gave them a rundown of the projects.

FORGE Member Columbus Brick toured Columbus High School students around their facilities showing the students how they operate and ways to get involved at Columbus Brick. Misty McCraw guided the students around the job sites and gave them a rundown of their projects.

FORGE Member Graham Roofing toured Columbus High School seniors around their warehouse, explaining what commercial roofing is, showing them different forms of material, and informing them of ways to get involved in the construction and roofing industry. Christee Holbrook guided the students around the warehouse and discussed upcoming projects.

FORGE Member West Brothers Construction toured Columbus High School students around their job sites. Rob Winklepleck and Jim Shackleford of West Brothers Construction explained different opportunities offered in the construction industry and during their tour students were given hats to wear on the job site for safety precaution.

FORGE Member Burns Dirt toured MSU Civil and Environmental Engineering Department around and hosted the Mississippi Summer Transportation Institute – a two-week residential summer institute for high school sophomores and juniors. These students visited the Bulldog Way / Starkville Walk project and had a chance to observe the job site and learn about careers in construction. During their tour, students were given hard hats and safety vests to wear on the job site for safety precautions.

FORGE Member Burns Dirt toured East Mississippi Community College – Heavy Civil Construction Program allowing students to get up close and personal with heavy equipment and site coordinators. Students connected with superintendents, project managers, and operators during an in-depth discussion about career pathways in all levels of construction.
